LRR expands its capabilities by adding over 35 years of motorsports design, engineering and mechanical success.

STATESVILLE, NC. January 21, 2019 – In response to growing business needs, Long Road Racing (LRR) has added Dustin Gambrell, mechanic and Mike Wright, engineer to our team. Their roles and experience will help develop new projects and will compliment LRR’s current business of building the Global MX-5 Cup race car for Mazda Motorsports. “Adding Dustin and Mike increases our capabilities as a design, engineering and manufacturing company in the automotive industry.” Says Glenn Long, Long Road Racing’s president.

Dustin Gambrell has over 10 years of experience as a mechanic in the professional racing industry. He has performed duties ranging from car chief to mechanic to pit crew. Through his career, Dustin has contributed to two overall IMSA GTD NAEC championships, an IMSA GTLM championship and two overall victories at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.

Mike Wright joins LRR with over 25 years of racecar design and engineering experience. Mike’s engineering experience extends into car development, CAD design, data analysis, race strategy and aerodynamics.  He has had a hand in developing everything from Group C racecars to Indycars to prototypes.

Both Dustin and Mike started with LRR in January 2019. “We are excited to have them join our team and continue to make an impact on the automobile racing industry.”
